Brooklyn’s own funk ambassadors deliver a brand new remix 12″ of tunes taken from their last full length, Janxta Funk. Over the course of the past four years, the Pimps of Joytime have evolved into a road tested and audience approved groove machine. On this EP, a hand selected group of producers puts their own spin on the ‘part gangsta, part janky’ sound the Pimps have become known for, and the results are sure to fill dancefloors worldwide.

On the A-Side, homegrown Brooklyn producer J.Bless reworks “Janxta Funk!” into a soulful head nodder with shining horns, delayed vocals and a whole lotta bounce. Next up, Bastard Jazz’s Captain Planet aims his remix of “Keep That Music Playin’” straight for the dancefloor with a dubby uptempo remix with synth squeals and hints of electro around the edges. On the flip, Navagente goes for the low-end with a deep and bass heavy remix of “Africa U” that’s perfectly set for a 5AM dark warehouse set. Denver’s Juno What rounds out the package with a seriously funky electro-boogie take on “Pimpin’ Music” that’s all set to rattle trunks from coast to coast.
